“I'd be hard pushed to think of another rod maker, both past or present,
that can produce this kind of quality. I could go on and on about the rod
but suffice to say it will be a lifelong companion... Edward Barder produces
the most outstanding cane rods available” (Chris Ball, Coarse Fisherman).

Whipping silk options
Unless otherwise stated, all of the options listed
below include perfectly graduated and spaced intermediate whippings. The rod
prices are not affected by choice of whippings.
- Transparent bottle
green vintage Pearsalls silk throughout with fine crimson tippings to the
main whippings - our trademark colour scheme.
- As above, but without
intermediates. This clean look saves a little weight. Its how we finished
our earlier rods, including those used by Chris Yates in the Passion For
Angling programmes.
- Transparent Burgundy silk for the ring, ferrule
and handle whippings, with subtle old gold intermediates, as seen in the
the Coarse rods, Details
photos.
- Transparent bottle green vintage Pearsalls silk for
the ring, ferrule and handle whippings, with subtle old gold intermediates.
- Transparent Burgundy silk throughout, with fine crimson tippings to
the main whippings.
- As above, but without intermediates.
- Transparent chestnut brown silk throughout. This is a harmonious
classic colour scheme that works particularly well on the MK IVs.
