These photos show two outstanding barbel caught by Edward Barder on the river Kennet in Berkshire.

The first photo is of a 16 lbs 10 oz specimen: the Kennet record when caught
in 2004.
The second is of a fish that weighed in at 15 lbs 4 oz.(Photo by Terry Crook)
Tackle used to land these monsters included a Chris Yates Barbus Maximus rod and a Bernard Venables landing net, both made by the Edward Barder Rod Company.
