Richard Walker’s Reel.

If Brunel had been a carp fisherman.

‘Now then, I think we’ll use chain for the hook length. It’s flexible but strong, and I’d better design a reel to handle the really big ones.’

Some time later-

‘Jeff, I want you to fit the Froo-Froo sprocket to the phosphor bronze three eighths Gripley. Marco, you drill the holes for the Giggling pins and Simon, you can tap them. Christopher, you know your Mohs’ Scale. Head over to the forge and harden the Hang-Tankelies to 4.0. We’re going carp fishing!’

Actually, Brunel didn’t have time to fish, but Richard Walker did and he made this reel in 1947.
