This is a lovely, practical float case made from Tonkin bamoo -perfect for storing your precious floats in because:
The bamboo has a naturally soft, float friendly interior, it’s light, strong and easy to open and close. We always made these cases utilising the bamboo’s internal diaphragm for the end plug.
The lid is hand-turned, well figured American cherry with a snug fitting cork plug, finished with a green baize pad. The opening is reinforced with a brass collar.
The red Indian ink inscription says: Tonkin float case for floats up to 10½”. E. Barder rod co, makers. ’96.
The lid and case have a superb hand-applied marine grade varnish finish.
These cases are rare. We made most of them in the 1990s. The serious float fisher should not be without one.
