£2,600.00

The rod was made in 2012.  It has hardly been used and is in 99%+ of new condition, having been correctly stored since leaving our workshop.  We made the rod as an exceptional example of our 7’#4 model 2844 which is our most popular and typical brook rod.  When testing the rod on the Lambourn behind my workshop, I found that it would also cast a #3 line nicely, which adds to the rod’s versatility, so I have inscribed it accordingly.

The rod is finished in our standard format, with snake guides, stripping guide and tip rings to which I applied a dark bronze finish.  The reel seat spacer is an exceptionally highly figured piece of olive wood that exhibits both birdseye and marbled grain.

The hand stitched made to measure English bridle leather case is a one-off that was specially commissioned from Matthew Payne, who has worked for the likes of John Lobb, Ralph Lauren and Bergdorf Goodman.

The rod has a very smooth action that is perfect for small streams.  It is accurate, robust and roll casts really well.  The rod is very capable of handling hard and regular use, and for anyone whose first love is fishing small streams, this is the ultimate rod in terms of utility and quality.
