CTS of New Zealand are the masters of fibreglass blank making. This is not the vague soggy stuff, but the smooth, strong, precise kind -or we wouldn’t be building rods with it.
This rod is slender, light and robust. If you want a supremely classy, elegant brook rod but don’t want to risk your favourite split cane wand, this is THE rod.
The action is progressive and delivers accurate casts smoothly and effortlessly. For small trout streams where space is limited, this might well be the ultimate fly rod.
The blank is built from CTS’s peerless unidirectional S-glass, finished in a dull gloss translucent honey colour.
The Flor grade handle is made from hand-cut ¼” corks. The reel seat has a highly figured olive wood spacer with blued nickel silver butt cap, sliding band, grip check and shoulder collar.
Guides and tip-top are Snake Brand fine wire with a black nickel finish over hard chrome. The butt ring is nickel silver with a beautifully marked Brazilian agate centre.
Silks are varnish impregnated Pearsall’s Gossamer light olive with ultra-fine tan tippings. The joints have olive wood and carbon fibre stoppers.
The rod comes in a tailor made bag with an integral stiffener, and a superb Barder aluminium tube.
