A superb example of the quintessential Bogdan fly reel, in near mint condition.

Hand made by S E Bogdan of Nashua, New Hampshire. Stan Bogdan hand made his classic fly reels from 1955 until his death in 2009. These reels represent the benchmark of American fly reel production.
The standard Trout model is suitable for #4 & #5 lines.
The reel has a 3¼” diameter with a ¾” wide spool. The check is currently set up for LHW but this can be changed to RHW. The reel weighs 5.3 oz.
Light champagne anodised spool and frame, black anodised side plates -the side plate and spool are both ventilated. Other parts are natural aluminium.
The black handle is mounted on a counterbalanced serpentine bar.
The reel is in superb used condition. The only marks are some incredibly tiny specks to the black anodised back plate. You can’t feel them, they are not immediately obvious (like tiny specks of dust) but they are there if one cares to look really closely. There is no line wear. The reel has its original dark brown suede drawstring pouch.
